I know you have heard about the many benefits of meditation. Below are just a few benefits: 

  1. Relieves anxiety
  2. Relieves stress
  3. Reduces aging
  4. Increases focus
  5. Increases immunity
  6. Improves brain function
  7. Helps to heal the soul (helps you feel more connected)


But why start a meditation practice and why start it for the New Year?

Now, meditation as far as completing your goals is very important. I am sure you've read many articles about people who have started their New Year's Resolution and cannot finish them. More than likely, you have experienced this for yourself. Many times that is due to several factors. Let’s take a look at one of these factors:

Lack of Focus

Being successful in any resolution, whether it be for the New Year or any other time, is really about building new routines. Building new routines is easier to do when you have a more centrally focused mind. Let’s give an example of what can happen to someone with lack of focus.

You start off the New Year with a resolution. You are motivated and you start with your resolution. You are doing good, but life, your “old life” is happening around you at the same time you are trying to shift your vibration into a new reality. That “old life” that you are trying to shift, begins to catch your attention. You try your best to ignore it but you feel like you cannot. Eventually, the old life begins to capture more and more of your attention. As a result, you lose focus on your goals/resolutions.

As we know from the law of attraction,  the more you focus on whatever it is that you don't like, the more of that you are going to get.  This lack of focus, is what takes people away from their initial goal.

How Meditation Helps with Focus

Meditation is very beneficial to institute the principles of the Law of Attraction. It helps you to focus, which is a key principle of the Law of Attraction. The necessity to focus on that which you desire and that which feels good. A regular meditation practice helps you to do that.


Meditation definitionThis is because meditation is focus as a basic and simple definition.  Meditation is focus to the point that all other stimuli diminish from your awareness.  This means that you have your attention centered on something so much that all else fades from your awareness. Meditation used in this context means that a person can be in a state of meditation for anything. For instance, one can be in a meditative state thinking about something that happened at home they did not like or one can be in a meditative state feeling love.  As you can see, it is most desirable to actively put your focus on something that feels good to you.

Meditation naturally quiets the mind.  This is due to the fact that your focus is so intent on what you are doing that you naturally slip into a state of non-thinking.  Based on this explanation, meditation can also be described as a process of non-thinking.  You are literally "out of your mind", when you meditate.  This is even true when the source of the meditation is from thinking.  As you think of something so intently where all other stimuli diminish, you eventually "slip into the gap" of non-thinking.

Common Issues for Beginner Meditators

Now initially when one begins to meditate, one starts to notice their lack of ability to focus. This is a common thing about meditation. But be rest assured that this is really part of the process. And really in order to truly master the Law of Attraction, you will need to learn to focus and meditation is one of the best ways to do it.

This is a process. This is really a process. This is about understanding and learning that and starting on this journey.  In order to raise your vibration you have to focus on that which makes you feel good. When you do that, you uplift your vibrational state.
