Alternate Nostril Breathing for Anxiety & Stress

Alternate nostril breathing is an excellent way to relieve stress and anxiety. In addition to helping to relieve anxiety and stress, alternate nostril breathing has other benefits:

How to do Alternate Nostril Breathing
- Sit in a comfortable position with your back erect and relaxed.
- Close your eyes.
- Raise your right hand & close the right nostril with your right thumb.
- Inhale through the left nostril - 4 seconds.
- Immediately close the left nostril with your right ring finger and little finger and at the same time remove your thumb from the right nostril.
- Exhale through this nostril - 8 seconds.
- Inhale through the right nostril - 4 seconds.
- Close the right nostril with your right thumb and release your other fingers.
- Exhale through the left nostril - 8 seconds.
This completes 1 full round. Do 3-7 rounds at a time.
Do not force the breathing. Relax and allow it to flow. If there are nasal passage blockages, use another breathing technique. Breathing times are suggested times only.
