Alternative Healing from a Chronic Disease | Meditation for Health

I see healing from a disease as a two-step process, well actually three-steps.First, you must want to heal. You must set your intentions that you will do what it takes (whatever is in line with your beliefs) and you will make the effort to heal your body. When you intend, whether you do this consciously or unconsciously by going to the health store, visiting your doctor or starting your own regimen, you have started the first step to healing.
Step 2: Being diagnosed with a chronic disease is a physical health issue, however, it also comes along with the emotional baggage of the situation. I am sure there are many thoughts going on in your head about the ailment. In actuality, there were many thoughts going on in your head before you were diagnosed.
One of the keys to healing is to recognize the thoughts that do not serve you and let them go. Why do you ask? Well, thoughts affect your health. Your body doesn't know the difference between you thinking about something and you actually doing it. Your body will react the same. For instance, if you are lying in bed at night, thinking about all the horrible things that happened to you during the day or your lifetime, your body is reacting. Chances are your blood pressure is rising, your heart rate is increasing and other physiological changes are happening. This is the same reaction that would be occurring if you were actually in the situation for which you were thinking about. You are putting your body under stress and must learn to "de-stress" per se. Mindfulness meditation is a way to do this. It trains you to observe your thoughts without judgement and to let them go. Practicing mindfulness meditation also gets you into the habit of being present. When you are present, you are focused in the moment and not on the past.
Step 3: Learn to FEEL GOOD! Another key to improving your health is to feel good. This should not be overlooked because of its simplicity. Its simplicity is what makes it so powerful.
Feeling good is intricately related to the thoughts in your head. Thoughts in your head will either make you feel good or put you in a non-good feeling state. When the thoughts in your head cause you to not feel good, then you are placing your body under stress. When you have thoughts that feel good, your body becomes relaxed and can heal. Another way of saying this from an energetic perspective, is that when you are relaxed, you raise your energetic vibration. When you raise your vibration, you improve your health.
Mindfulness meditation, feeling good and raising your vibration are natural and alternative treatments for chronic diseases. The concept is simple, yet the results are very meaningful as studies will show. All of the steps are also complimentary to any other alternative or traditional treatment plan that you undertake. Monitor your thoughts, relax and heal your body!
