Your mind is beautiful and very powerful, yet an unfocused mind creates undesired effects. You can, however, train your mind to focus and concentrate and thereby produce a healthy physical, emotional and mental state.

how-to-focus-and-concentrateHave you ever noticed the correlation between your mind and your feelings?  Have you ever noticed that when you have certain thoughts in your mind,  you feel bad and other thoughts make you feel good?  If you have noticed this, you can easily understand that your thoughts cause you to feel good or bad. It is important to understand because how you feel affects your physical, emotional and mental health.That is the power of thought.

Have you also noticed the constant stream of thoughts that continually float in your head on a daily basis? 

From your own personal experience, do you have any idea whether most of these thoughts make you feel good or make you feel bad? If you do not know or have not thought about it, ask yourself whether you are consistently in a good mood or bad mood?  When I say good mood, I am speaking of being happy about the life you have created for yourself.  Are you consistently happy about your life and the situations in your life?

Do you feel there are some areas in your life in which you would like to be more happy? Would you like to control your thoughts and thereby control on a consistent basis whether you feel good or bad? Would you like to feel better than you currently feel on a regular basis?  Well you can when you train your mind to focus.  When you train your mind to focus, you have the power and ability to focus your thoughts on thoughts that make you feel good. You also have the ability to focus your attention on whatever you are doing in the present moment.  If, whatever, you are doing in the present moment makes you feel good, then you are maintaining a steady level of good feelings.  A good feeling state causes your body to open energetically to higher healing energy and thereby results in an improved physical, emotional and mental state.
 
How do you quiet your mind or put another way, how do you train your mind to focus? You train your mind through meditation.

Meditation is synonymous with focus.  Meditation basically described is focus.  Unfortunately, many people get turned off from the prospect of meditating.  Either they have briefly tried it and due to a preponderous of thoughts in their head think they cannot meditate or they think they cannot do it because they know they have too many negative thoughts roaming around their head.  Well, let me tell you that if you are committed, you can do it. “If you believe you can do it, then so shall it be. If you believe you cannot do it, then so shall it be.”  Anything you believe, whether you believe you can or cannot do it, will come to fruition.
