Now when you think of mindfulness or any type of meditation, you may not necessarily think of the correlation between the mind and the body. Well the mind-body connection is well-founded. In basic terms, a chaotic mind causes “chaos” in the body. If you hold the “chaotic vibration” long enough, then very profound blockages in the physical, mental/emotional and spiritual bodies occurs. These blockages are what many term “dis-ease”.

Worry about a situation causes stress hormones to be released. If you worry occasionally, then the stress hormones have a limited affect on the body. However, if you worry constantly, which appears to be the case for most people, stress hormones remain elevated and cause all kinds of “chaos” in the body.

Below are some symptoms or energetic blockages that occur as a result of a constant “chaotic mind” emanating worry, fear, doubt, hatred, anger, frustration, sadness, etc:

Mental/Emotional symptoms:

  • Easily agitated or moody
  • Feeling overwhelmed
  • Low self-esteem
  • Overactive mind
  • Needing to control situations or losing control
  • Forgetfulness

Physical symptoms:

  • Headaches
  • Decreased energy
  • Muscle aches, pain or tension
  • Nervousness
  • Insomnia

Spiritual symptoms:

  • Feeling lack of purpose
  • Feeling lost in the world
  • Worried about the big picture of life

Benefits of quieting the mind

When you quiet your mind, you break the “chaotic mind cycle” and your body no longer gets the signal to release the stress hormones. The more you can quiet the mind, the more you can break the cycle. When you continually break the cycle, you relieve your body of stress hormones, which allows your body to naturally heal itself.

From an energetic perspective, the quieting of the mind raises your vibration and releases blockages. This allows higher vibratory energy to flow freely through your body. When this happens your body returns to its’ natural state of health.

What you can do right now

Having said all of that, below are 5 Mindfulness Techniques you can do right now to break the cycle.
