Music with the Intention to Heal

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Rick Batyr, an intuitive sound healer and producer. His music is inspirational and is excellent for meditation and energy healing. Read below to find out more information and to purchase his album, Path of Light - Music for Energy Healing Volume 1. 

How does your music help a person during meditation?

RICK: The music I create can help a soul on many levels. The essence of what I do is using sound with the intention to heal the body, mind, emotional and energetic fields. There is a lot of hype in this genre of music and some of it is just made to be relaxing music which is also great. When I compose these sound healing every sound you hear has a vibrational healing purpose. Each sound and frequency you will hear is meant to vibrate your energetic body and stimulate cellular activation. Helping the listener to not only heal but release what no longer serves them. In most of my meditation music I also use tuned binaural beats. These sonic pulses cause the brain into hearing a false harmonic that eases the brain into a specific state of alpha, beta or theta wave activation. All of these elements in combination help to transport the listener into a state of meditation and self awareness as well as send vibrational signals to the body for healing and positivity.

Do you practice meditation and how does it help you create your music?

RICK: Yes ! I never write healing music without meditation. My approach can vary as far as meditation techniques and I would love to explain my process as it is just as important as the music itself. I am an intuitive with a connection to the akashic records as well as a reiki practitioner. When I want to create healing music I allow myself to become a clear channel for divine guidance allowing the music to be channeled through me taking away as much ego as possible. It is also extremely important to me to be able to heal and clear my own energies before I begin to write as I would not want to attach my personal feelings into the music. Path of light was made to be a sonic tool to help promote healing energy for both the healer and the receiver. My process for each song would be to start with a prayer meditation allow myself to be a clear channel to receive messages from spirit as well as calling on reiki energy. At that point I record and play in that meditative state. It never feels to me like I just played what was recorded. It comes from a higher place than the ego self. For me meditation during composition is the only way healing music can be properly written.

Can you tell me what was your inspiration for creating and naming your opening song for the album, The Mountain's Peak?

RICK: I wanted the first song to follow this album to follow the flow of a healing circle/session. This song is intended to help the listener ground, clear energy and become a clear channel to receive healing energies. The title the mountains peak was inspired from an experience during my reiki attunement and the story of Dr. Usui. Dr. Usui had traveled to Mt. Kurama where he meditated, and on the 21st day he received the gift of reiki energy. During my attunment meditation I saw myself walking up a mountain path in a beautiful landscape, when I reached the top of the mountain I saw myself receiving reiki energy.
